Glam and golden! Hot couples at the 2010 Golden Globes

There was kissing, there was posing, and…a rather unusual new form of PDA on the 2010 Golden Globes red carpet: umbrella holding! As the torrential rain fell and fell over Hollywood on this otherwise golden evening, chivalry was alive and well, as loads of male stars took to protecting their better half (and their up-do’s)  from the elements…

Looking like a dapper Fred Astaire singing in the rain, Joshua Jackson held up an umbrella for girlfriend and Inglorious Basterds star Diane Kruger.

After renewing their vows last week following a rocky first year of marriage, Josh Duhamel and Fergie, in a lavender chiffon Elie Saab, were all smiles.

True Blood star Anna Paquin played the vamp in her plunging gold Stella McCartney frock. Her fiancé Stephen Moyer went for a custom Burberry tux.

Seriously underdressed or playing it cool? Tea Leoni looked like she was ready for a day at the office, not a date with her beau, Californication star David Duchovny.

Emily Blunt’s hair may have taken a bit of a beachy turn in the rain, but her pink tulle and chiffon strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown was all class and polish. Her sweetheart John Krasinski wore a Prada navy two-button tuxedo.

OK, so they’re not exactly a couple…But Christina Aguilera and Cher brought a double dose of diva by pairing up as presenters to promote Burlesque (out next November), in which they both star. Cher looks great, despite her devilish Morticia Adams dress. I looooved Christina’s dress, but you already knew that!

Two tuxes are better than one! Neil Patrick Harris walked the red carpet with his boyfriend David Burtka.

Wedded bliss? Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer, in white strapless lace.

Jenna Fisher hearts…her umbrella holder? Love the crowd rocking dollar store parkas in the bleachers behind!

The ideal couple…Sandra Bullock and her Golden Globe! We’re sure Jesse James was proud too. How did you feel about her purple tulle Bottega Veneta? I loved the colour, but the shiny tulle and poofy skirt brought me back to nineties prom nights…

Inglorious Basterds star Mélanie Laurent wore one of the night’s many nude gowns, as she walked the red carpet with Basterds director Quentin Tarantino.

Best actor nominee George Clooney looks amazing even when doing the scruffy beard thing. I would love to say something catty about his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, but her peach satin knot-detail gown was simply lovely.

Nude again! With husband Harrison Ford, Calista Flockheart chose a nude and silver netted Alberta Ferretti dress. I hope they were giving sandwiches in the gift bags.

Precious! Best-Supporting Actress winner Mo’Nique gave a heartfelt acceptance speech for her role in playing an abusive mother in Precious, thanking her partner by referring to a moment “when I looked into your eyes at 14 and said we are going to be stars” . Awwww! The dress is Reem Acra, the diamond knot earrings are Everlon.

Black is for rock stars! U2′s the Edge and his wife Morleigh stuck to basics, and in true altruistic U2 fashion, wore a ‘support Haiti’ ribbon.
