Day 1 of Toronto Fashion Week

March 13th, 2012

1
Fashion Week has taken over downtown Toronto.

Last night, well-heeled guests crammed into the World MasterCard Fashion tents to attend Holt Renfrew’s show and see fall fashion from some of our favorite Canadian designers. Sure the clothes made us swoon (I’m talking about you Jeremy Laing coat, Line knits, Dennis Merotto tuxedo pants and Kate Middleton-worthy Smythe jacket, above) and I-can’t-wait-to wear-‘em fall trends (skinny cropped leather pants in a variety of colours and mixed textures), but it was little details—namely stand out feather pumps and vivid orange-red lips—that left me speechless.

I know I should have been staring at the clothes–but I have such a thing for feathers–so my eyes naturally kept darting to the model’s feet. What’s not to love about these dazzling beauties?! I would wear them in a heart beat. Never considered pairing them with a bomber jacket (gorg from Mackage), but it’s pretty striking, no?

Oooh, I love me some vivid red lipstick. And if I had lips like Tara Gill’s (heart her high cheekbones!), I would wear every fruity shade under the sun!

For up-to-the-minute front row access, be sure to follow me as a tweet live from the tents all week: @livjudd
