Mimi in Milan

1.

Prada, the sixties and Japan

Miuccia Prada knows that women are complex creature, full of contradictions. Just because she has a strong side doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a softer, dreamy and poetic nature too … One doesn’t comprise the other and Miuccia has no problem putting them together in her designs. The latest collection references sixties silhouettes, with straight cuts away from the body, and  embellishment with flowers, prints or patches. There were plenty of  Eastern influences: thick satin, origami pleats, cross body kimono style closures,  Zen prints, red lips and socks in wooden sandals.

Strengths: austere black dresses and satin pastel coats

Colours: black, white, red maraschino, forest green, powder pink and foam green.

Accessories: shoes and sandals with socks and platforms and leather detailing. Ultra thin bags. Tiny rigid totes. Thick-rimmed glasses flowers. Link bracelets and bracelets adorned with 3D flowers.

The Canadian models: Grace Mahary and Jessica Stam.

Loved: the floral prints that looked like airbrushed or chalk-drawn.

Yes, forest green is still on the fashion menu for Spring 2013- at least for Prada, anyway!

Prada’s wooden sandals with extreme platforms would make a Harajuku girl squeal.

2.

Fans of polygons

They were very easy to spot in the crowd, the famous polygons launched by Prada for fall. It seems that fashionistas have a weakness for purple too.

My darling Bryanboy donned a baseball style jacket with his Prada shirt along with his tried and true statement eyewear and bejeweled clutch.

Printed pants and a printed bag: this girl has got guts to mix her optical patterns.

I’m not sure how this purple light was cast but it’s kind of perfect. Do not ask me what happened with the camera.

3.

3 Italian fashionistas, 3 styles

I cannot count the number of girls who look incredible at Milan Fashion Week. Here are three famous faces that stand out in the crowd of beauties.

Anna Dello Russo

She attracts paparazzi like an Oscar-winning star. At this point, everyone has their eyes on the fashion editor and consultant of Vogue Japan, who launches her accessories collection at H & M on Oct. 4th. Somehow she finds the time to go home and change outfits between runway shows.

Seen at the 9.30 Max Mara fashion show, Anna experienced with mixing & matching prints: a colourful patterned blouse and a Carven skirt with a “medieval painting” design.

At the 18:30 Prada runway she wore what else but  Prada. In true ADR style, she was embellished top to bottom.

Elisa Nalin

This Italian designer is know for her blonde crop and crystal blue eyes. She adores bright colours and always wears lots of bracelets on her wrist for a full arm party.

Elisa embraces fashion with a childlike playfulness. Check out her un-bearable cute iPhone case!

Giovanna Battaglia

Stylist at W, magazine, Giovanna often has a sort of aristocratic elegance with her sleek hair and high neck dress.

Looking prim and polished, Giovanna is very much a lady.

4.

Max Mara – on safari

Italian luxury and cool minimalist greets us season after season at brand Max Mara’s runway shows. The 2013 collection is designed for the fashion adventurer, ready to embark on a great safari.

Strengths: reinterpreted safari jackets details like shoulder straps and pockets.

Colours: mud, tobacco, camel, blue gray, khaki, gray and black.

Accessories: open toe sandals, wrapped around the ankle, and scarves draped over the hair

Loved: the collage prints of flowers and leopard print

A Max Mara T-shirt with shoulder straps teamed with trousers tied at the ankle.

5.

Style photos

I don’t pretend to be a professional photographer but I wanted to share with you a nice street style photo from my day.

I don’t know if they are a couple in life, but these two are so cute with their matching baroque looks!

And now… my worst shot: Who is this mystery bob’s owner? None other than Anna Wintour (I swear!). I snagged an almost photo of her before she ran off with her bodyguards.

6.

The Scoop at Just Cavalli

American rapper Azealia Banks will be at the highly anticipated Friday night opening of the Just Cavalli store. Azealia isn’t visiting just to shop either -  no, no, no! She is performing live!
